Project Description

GRAYMATTER Business Suite is GrayWorks' own all-in-one CRM for organizations — “every lead, every deal, one brain.” Contacts, pipeline, booking, an email and web chat inbox, invoices, workflows, AI agents, and an optional AI receptionist that answers calls replace the seven tabs most teams juggle, taking a lead from first contact to paid invoice behind one login.

The suite is built on Next.js and Postgres with S3-compatible file storage, and it is fully self-hosted on GrayWorks infrastructure rather than rented by the seat. Every page and query is scoped to the active workspace, so each organization's data is walled off from every other one. Work arrives as GitHub issues and is built in parallel feature slices — messaging, workflows, AI agents, commerce, community, and billing — on a shared platform of navigation, an event outbox, and AI, payment, and email services.

Before launch, every feature was exercised end to end in production through the real interface, and each result was checked against the database and, for email, against the receiving inbox. A narrated in-app tutorial walks new users through the suite, and the suite now has its own domain and landing page at graymattersuite.com, where self-serve signup puts every plan behind a 14-day free trial.

Organizations sign up on their own and pick Starter ($41/month), Growth ($108/month), or Scale ($249/month), billed yearly or monthly, each with a 14-day free trial. Every plan includes the core CRM; higher tiers add workflows, the website builder, Social Planner, and AI agents, and usage past the monthly email or AI allowance is billed at a flat rate with no tier jumps. The optional AI Receptionist add-on, from $69/month for 100 minutes, answers every call 24/7, books into the GRAYMATTER calendar, takes messages, warm-transfers to the team, and logs the summary, transcript, and recording on the contact.

Each workspace has contacts with a full activity timeline and CSV import and export, a drag-and-drop deal pipeline, tasks, and a calendar with two-way Google Calendar sync for each team member. Public booking pages, lead-capture forms with UTM and click-ID attribution, file storage, a shared email and web chat inbox, and reports on pipeline, revenue, lead sources, and team activity round out the core.

A Workspace Assistant finds, summarizes, and drafts across the whole CRM and proposes actions — such as adding a contact or moving a deal — that run only after a person approves them. AI agents answer web chat and email from a knowledge base and hand off when a person should step in, the website builder generates sites and funnels served by the suite, and the Social Planner schedules and publishes posts with AI-built carousels in the brand's colors.

Products, quotes, invoices, and checkout pages take payment through Stripe. A workflow engine reacts to events across the suite, and a public REST API and signed webhooks connect it to outside tools. Conversations, email templates, and bulk email run through SendGrid with unsubscribe handling, and review requests, a member community with courses, reports, and activity logs complete the platform.
